Leaving on a Jetplane!

Hola!

Wow, I had intended on being able to post so much between when I first started this blog and now, but I guess that's how life goes...Either way, I am preparing as I write this to leave in the morning for Gainesville, Georgia. I will be there for 10 days before leaving on July 2 for Peru. While in Gainesville, I'll be having leader training until the students come on June 26. When they arrive, we will have an intense time of team building, ministry prep, and preparing our hearts Spiritually for what God has in store. I'm really excited and nervous to go. I feel very unprepared both personally and as a leader of this team. I ask that you pray for my heart and that I will be seeking the Father as he is worthy so that I can be led by the Spirit to guide this team for the summer!

A few small details about our ministry. We will be in Musho in the Andes of Peru working with the Pastor (Pedro) of the small church there. Pray that God will open the doors for ministry, as we will be meeting with Pedro and setting up our ministry once we arrive, I've been told the village is quite small, so I am excited to get to know the people there well as we spend time becoming a part of their community. The main language where we are is Quechua, so pray for clear communication, as I am told that is a difficult language, and we may be working through two translators (English-Spanish-Quechua). My team will consist of myself and two other leaders (Jason and Chelsea) as well as the director of the Ambassador program at AIM who will be joining us for the first part of the trip. We also have 11 students coming along with us (Bart, Meghan, Sarah P, Sarah H, Adrian, Kyle, Molly, Channelle, Ally, Liana, BreAnne). Please be praying for each of them, as this is the first mission experience and the first time to leave home for some of them! I can't wait to see how God is going to use them and work in us all throughout the summer!

I likely won't be able to post here while I am gone, but check the trip update website for updates. Once I return (July 29), I will try to write stories to share with everyone. Thanks for your prayers!
